This project used an official assessment drafted for the town of Alma, NB for design of a community center that was diverse in its functions and features. There are sleeping quarters, science research labs, an interpretive center for the national park and art studios and recreation areas for the townsfolk. To accommodate these different programs the building was split into smaller trapezoidal units. These could then be arranged to create positive and negative spaces. Natural ventilation was a central driving force in the siting and design.
